Theta News

This article comes from Brother Zach Fairchild, High Theta.

This next semester we have a lot going on for the external side of the chapter. We will be bringing Watermelon Bust back as the kick off to this years North American Canned Food Drive. It went on a year hiatus in favor of Lambda Jam, but the brothers have decided it was a terrible shame that the event didn't happen. It is one of my personal favorite events of the year. This year we will be coupling with Women 4 Women to hold the event. They are the largest organization on campus, consisting of 250 women. We are also going to be holding it on campus, outside of the Payne residence hall. This is going to be the biggest Watermelon Bust NMU has ever seen.

The North American Canned food drive this year is also going to be huge. We are going to hit the, always just out of reach, 10,000 pound food mark this year because of the commitment of the brothers. We will be supermarket sitting and doing the regular door to door. To get the lofty goals done WE need YOUR help. Any donations of food or money for either events would be greatly appreciated. If you are so inclined, send a check to 619 N. 4th street, Marquette, Mi, 49855. These events will provide excellent exposure for the chapter will be amazing for recruitment. The chapter has been rejuvenated and we are going to kick some ass this summer. As Brother Kohler said, “We party hard, but we philanthropy harder!”. We are living by this.
